Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree
  • Two 2 years of related work experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support for supervisor & department chair including coordinating office operations and assisting with budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Keeps appointment calendars and schedules appointments; makes reservations and travel arrangements; receives and screens calls providing advanced information or referring callers to appropriate staff.
  • Processes and distributes incoming departmental mail. Compiles information and data for periodic and special reports; performs research and retrieval of records; conducts statistical comparisons of information; sets up and maintains record system for area of responsibility.
  • Creates and completes departmental and college forms types correspondence reports memos contracts schedules manuals documents requisitions and related paperwork. Completes and submits purchase requisitions for supplies and materials; assists with accountability of purchases. Gathers and submits as appropriate information for payroll in a timely manner.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for current and prospective students contacting the Angela & DS Patel School of Engineering. Provides supplemental support to students and faulty in the department.
  • Attend departmental staff and other professional meetings as requested to exchange information or take minutes. Serve as departmental liaison as directed by supervisor.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Possess strong computer skills and have knowledge of software programs including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as PeopleSoft is a plus.
  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Skilled in customer service scheduling record keeping and communication.
  • Be creative and have the ability to work independently on many projects.
  • Possess the ability to multitask utilize time management and be well organized.
