Description

Organization Overview:The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are wellestablished Manhattan communitybased agencies that support services to approximately 30000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York Citys leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children youth and families homeless individuals and older adults throughout Manhattan and New York City. Program Description: Goddard Riverside invests in people & strengthens community serving more than 20000 people throughout New York City with a variety of programs for all ages. We work within a social justice framework to create a fair and just society where all people have the opportunity to make choices that lead to better lives for themselves and their families.

Goddards newest endeavor will be a transitional Site for adult families. This site will be a place where families can feel safe receive resources and supportive services while becoming acclimated to and part of the community.

The Monument is an emergency capacity transitional site located in Manhattan in the Upper West Side.

Position Summary:RA team will ensure clients are getting acclimated to their living situation following rules & regulations of the site and assist in monitoring the residence. Residential Aid staff are the first welcoming face new residents are greeted by!

Schedule:SundayThursday 7am3pm 35 hours a week)

Salary Range: $35000$43000

Bilingual: $40500$43000
Nonbilingual: $35000$40000

Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salaryoffer will be basedonthe candidates number of years experience in the exact orcomparableposition and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

  • Complete regular and routine resident and facility checks to ensure that residents are not at risk and that facility management is aware of potential hazards (leaks fire destruction of property etc..
  • Ensure compliance with all health fire and safety codes ensure timely handling of all violations prevent violations whenever possible.
  • Assist in the monitoring and development of residents daily independent living skills.
  • Cultivate professional and positive relationships with residents.
  • Utilize evidencebased practice models including person centered planning motivational interviewing trauma informed care culturally aware and strengthsbased approaches.
  • CoFacilitate and participate in resident groups.
  • Perform and document all daily room and bed inspections are taking place.
  • Manage operations desk: ensure documentation of client whereabouts answer phones when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with building staff to assist tenants and ensure tenant safety.
  • Document incidents onsite in CARES and send to Goddard Incident Report Committee.
  • Report any concerns on quality service deliverables to management in a timely manner.
  • Monitor common areas to ensure proper usage.
  • Conduct intakes during evenings overnights and weekends as needed.
  • Document in CARES intake system and ensure all clients are admitted in a timely fashion.
  • Provide daily food service and ensure food delivery is stored immediately.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the building and monitor common areas.
  • Participate in staff meetings where resident issues operations policies procedures and program outcomes are discussed.
  • Work some holidays to ensure proper coverage of residence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Residential Aide experience required but not limited to a shelter/residential setting.
  • Fluency in English and any language required to effectively meet the linguistic needs of our diverse resident community is essential.
  • Food Protection Certificate will be required during first few weeks of hire.
  • F80 Certification strongly preferred.

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

  • Cultural awareness and understanding of client centered care.
  • Passion for working with individuals and families who are in transitional housing.
  • Excellent communication skills able to utilize deescalation techniques.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records to prepare and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion.
  • Must be able to multitask with strong organizational skills.
  • Detail orientated and systems savvy.
  • Compassionate and personable
  • Teamorientated

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should be:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook OneDrive Excel etc.
  • Ability to learn multiple databases including CARES.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Frequent bending kneeling walking climbing and lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Work within a temporary residential building.
  • Designated kitchen area to serve food.
  • Visits to client rooms
