Demonstrated ability to workeffectively and courteously with various groups of patients staff andproviders.

Demonstrated indepth understanding ofmanaged care and all other pertinent insurance/medical coverage
Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAAConfidentiality and Privacy Policies
Demonstrated understanding of Disasterprotocols to include: fire safety and codecalls per the mandatory training as outlined by MGH and JCAHO guidelines.
Hours for this position are:
Monday Tuesday and Thursday 1pm to 5pm
Wednesday and Friday 8:30 to 12:30pm

The Patient Services Coordinator IIunder general supervision provides administrative support to health careproviders in a highvolume ambulatory setting functioning as the primaryinterface between the patient and the providers. The emphasis is placed on theability to organize priorities complete tasks manage confidential patientinformation and schedule patient appointments alongwith diagnostic testing. PSC II may havelimited involvement with referrals and other managed care related duties. Serves as an overall resource person forsupport staff.
Performs all duties that are theresponsibility of a Patient Service Coordinator I
Effectively make any necessary changes to theschedule as listed in AMION or as requested by Provider or Preceptor
Performs all checkin and outfunctions as outlined by the MGH/MGPO Front Desk Standards of Operations.
Provides support and information toproviders to problem solve and manage complex administrative patient issues
Understands all HMO Managed Care andother Third Party Insurers. Functions as a resource for patients around managedcare plans insurance and referral issues with an ability to performelectronic insurance verification.
Understands financial services andselfpay resources and provides patients with information as needed.
Triages and manages more complextelephone calls utilizing courteous customer service skills.
Maintains confidentiality and privacywhich is consistent with HIPAA guidelines.
Completely performs and is a resourceto other team members in all revenue enhancement activities including but notlimited to registration verification copayment collection cash managementencounter form reconcilement etc.
Schedules patient appointments andcreates referral Shells/Template for specialty visits and diagnostictesting as required. Coordinates thescheduling of diagnostic testing.
Coordinates and tracks referralappointments and visits for decrementation.
Provides cross coverage for otherPractice staff members for absences vacations etc. and during variations inworkflow as needed
Assists with training and orientationof new staff where applicable.
Performs all other related tasks whichwould facilitate the flow of patients through the practice or which wouldenhance the quality of service to patients.
