Analyst/ Associate Portfolio Management Credit

Position Summary:

Brookfield is is seeking an analyst or associate to join our New Yorkbased investment team as a portfolio manager focused on thirdparty client accounts including insurance and other institutional investors. Responsibilities will include working with sector origination teams to ensure that investment opportunities sourced through Brookfields global credit platform are appropriately and consistently applied to client portfolios in line with portfolio guidelines and risk budgets. The candidate will contribute to the portfolio management process by providing assistance throughout the life cycle of an investment and its implementation in client portfolios. The role will be based in Brookfields New York offices at Brookfield Place.

The ideal candidate will be a team player that demonstrates exceptional communication skills strong work ethic an entrepreneurial attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow. The candidate will be expected to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and is expected to know how to manage a workload. There will frequently be things that are new to the team so there will be an element of learning and discovery that requires strong analytical skills. This role provides a highly motivated individual with a solid foundation and exposure to a progressive and dynamic career within Brookfield Credit.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating and implementing customized asset allocation strategies for insurance and other institutional investors.

  • Monitor investment pipelines and utilize asset allocation portfolio construction and risk management skills to assist with allocation and of investments.

  • Develop and present reports on investment pipeline deployment performance and risk including monitoring ongoing compliance with investment guidelines.

  • Work closely with the groups Finance & Operations teams to ensure smooth client onboarding process and account activation for new mandates.

  • Contribute to ongoing client experience and new business development efforts by participating in portfolio reviews and client pitches.

  • Collaborate with technology services for integration and process enhancement while actively participating in system implementation projects for ongoing process improvements

  • Respond to inquiries and requests from clients or other departments or escalate to manager on a timely basis

  • Monitor changes to existing portfolios and apply the changes to all backoffice systems.

  • Design adhoc reports for special requests from clients or internal requests.

  • Make sure all the procedures are documented and maintained.

  • Contributing to a dynamic teamoriented working culture

  • Supporting adhoc requests and analysis as needed and other special duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in academic professional and personal contexts

  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance economics or other relevant fields is required.

  • At least 25 years of portfolio management or multisector portfolio strategy experience; prior experience with insurance clients and private credit investments a plus

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel familiarity with Bloomberg BlackRock Aladdin programming languages a plus

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinker who works well in a fastpaced dynamic complex and unstructured environment

  • Thorough and meticulous with extreme focus on details.

  • Selfmotivated and proactive with the ability to operate independently.

  • Teamoriented with a commitment to shared success.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels.

Salary Range: $120000 $160000

Our compensationstructure is comprised ofa base salary and a shortterm incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensationtends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience overall years of experience industry experience education and designations.
