Patient registration & scheduling experience.
Billing experience and knowledge of third party payor requirements.
Possess good organizational and keyboard skills.
Assists with coordination of the overall office operations of the Neuro Surgery Service. Interacts with the patients and physician offices to assist in their understanding of the billing requirements coding and evaluation & management related to patient care in the practice. Manages medical records in the Health Information systems inpaper and electronic form. Communicates directly with third party payers to authorize referrals and precertify radiology exams and followup tests. Assists in the collection of information essential to meet all billing and authorization requirements ensuring optimal collection. Monitors and alters front desk activity according to practice demands. Manages phone calls and physician scheduling as well as arranges followup exams and visits. Assists the management in maximizing patient scheduling staff efficiency and access to patient services provided by the department. Completes other special projects and administrative tasks which are assigned on a routine basis.
