Salary:Pursuant to WV Code 18A48a in accordance with Jefferson County Schools Salary Scale Pay Grade F/G commensurate with experience and education level
Evaluation:Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by the immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code 18A212 WV State Board Policy 5314 and Jefferson County Schools Evaluation Policy for Service Personnel
Job Summary:The ECCAT assists the teacher(s) in a variety of ways to implement instructional programs including working directly with children in small groups or on a onetoone basis; to establish effective rapport with students assigned to either a PreK Kindergarten First Second or Third Grade classroom; to motivate students to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a food educational foundation in accordance with each pupils ability.
ECCAT I considered a temporary certification for someone working on completing the ECCAT required courses.An ECCAT II is regarded as a permanent certification someone who has completed the required ECCAT courses. An ECCAT III is the certification for someone who has completed the ECCAT required course and holds a Paraprofessional certification.

High School Diploma or equivalent pursuant to WV Code 18A25; Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code 18515c; Meet the definition of Qualifications in WV Code 18A48b; demonstrated competency pursuant to WV Code 18A48e (stateapproved competency test(s) as required.
Should the successful applicant be an Aide without an ECCAT certification they must agree to enroll and take the 4 ECCAT courses to obtain the early childhood assistant teacher certification upon employment in this position.
