Job Summary:

Located at ClinImmune Cell and Gene Therapy this Healthcare position will be operating as an HLA Molecular Technologist performing clinical laboratory testing to determine compatibility of transplant recipients and donors including ABORh and CMV total and chimerism DNA sendouts HLA Class I HLA Class II genotyping. The position adheres to standards of external regulatory bodies including ABHI CAP and CLIA. This position requires the professional to understand principles of histocompatibility and immunogenetics. This role prepares reagents while adhering to strict quality control guidelines; performs and documents instrument function checks and preventative maintenance. The successful professional will work independently and with others readily adapt to changes in the work environment perform multiple tasks simultaneously communicate effectively with others participate in continuing education and demonstrate initiative in accomplishing the goals of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Class I and Class II HLA molecular typing according to written protocols.
• Perform assays according to established protocols follow safety guidelines use universal precautions and work well with others as well as independently.
• Actively participate in quality assurance programs.
• Record results accurately and concisely and communicate them as needed to transplant personnel and supervisors.
• Perform ABORh and CMV total and chimerism DNA sendouts according to written protocols.

Work Location:

Onsite this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level:

• A bachelors degree in biological science or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Intermediate Level:

• A bachelors degree in biological science or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
• One 1 year of professional level experience in an accredited HLA Laboratory.

Senior Level:

• A bachelors degree in biological science or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
• Two 2 years of professional level experience in an accredited HLA Laboratory.

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three 3 years of professional level experience in an accredited HLA Laboratory.
• Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or HER and data management systems).
• Certification by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ABHI) as a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or ABHI Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS) or certification as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists MT(ASCP).

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Knowledge of basic human immunology and general biology terminology.
• Ability to interpret and master complex protocol information.

The starting salary range or hiring range for this position has been established as:

• Entry Level: $56555 $71939
• Intermediate Level: $61546 $78286
• Senior Level: $66536 $84634

The above salary range or hiring range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
