Job Description
The Superintendent here at Blue Heron will be a part of our boundary pushing Elite division monitoring and planning all phases of construction projects while providing clear and concise communication and effective leadership across cross functional teams. The Superintendent here at Blue Heron demonstrates natural leadership qualities and the ability to think one step ahead while ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met. The Superintendent will coordinate with external vendors and subcontractors ensuring quality control and onsite leadership at our various construction locations.
Responsibilities:
- Support and reinforce Blue Herons Core Values across all field operations acting as a coach leader and negotiator as necessary.
- Manage all subcontractors to provide the planning coordination sequencing and site logistics to achieve the overall vision of each project.
- Develop overall construction plan with Project Team.
- Assist with formulating project schedules and implementing the construction schedule in the field.
- Identify risks and provide recommendations for mitigation to the project team and company executives.
- Provide weekly updates of the project schedule. Provide guidance to site subcontractors look ahead schedule planning and early scope gap detection.
- Negotiate with subcontractors as necessary to avoid contractual conflict or onsite discrepancies.
- Engage in monthly job site safety talks and safety meetings.
- Assist Project team to stay on task and follow up with all procurement issues.
- Guide the project to successful ontime completion while taking the budget into consideration but ultimately knowing that the schedule and the overall satisfaction of the client is of the utmost importance.
- Understand and navigate through all jurisdictional entities and inspection agencies as necessary.
Requirements
- Must have 510 years as a superintendent.
- The ability to manage 1 large or 23 smaller projects at once.
- Must have the ability to schedule complete daily logs and have good computer skills.
- Work well with other team members.
