Haystack News is the leading news video streaming app serving millions of users across the United States. While we have established ourselves as a leading distributor of news content we are just beginning to experiment with original content creation. This role will be the first to roll up their sleeves and drive our original content experiments helping to shape and define our future in this exciting new area. About the Role
We are seeking a versatile Producer/Editor who thrives in a fastpaced innovative environment and is excited to be at the forefront of our original content journey. You will play a pivotal role in developing original content projects with an endtoend mindsetfrom initial concept to ensuring it reaches our audience. This position offers the unique opportunity to rethink how news is created leveraging new tools including AI and working closely with our worldclass engineering team to build solutions that scale to the entire country.
You will need a creative mindset a relentless drive to get projects across the finish line and a willingness to experiment with unconventional methods and technologies. Key Responsibilities
Content Production: Produce and edit engaging news content for Haystack News platform and beyond including social media channels.
Innovative Storytelling: Leverage new tools and methods including AIpowered solutions to create content more efficiently and effectively.
EndtoEnd Project Ownership: Take projects from ideation to ensuring timely delivery despite limited resources.
Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and design teams to conceptualize and develop tools to enhance production capabilities. This includes creating automated content templates such as real estate reports and local crime alerts that can be used across the country.
Adaptability: Experiment with and adopt emerging technologies and workflows to improve content creation.
Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest quality standards in both production and editing while meeting tight deadlines.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Proven experience in producing and editing digital video content particularly news or journalismfocused content with expertise in at least one industrystandard video editing toolset (e.g. Adobe Premiere Final Cut Pro).
A passion for leveraging AIpowered solutions and experimenting with new tools (e.g. Capcut Descript RunwayML etc. to improve efficiency and redefine news video creation and distribution.
Ability to think creatively and execute projects with limited resources while maintaining strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience working in a startup environment or with small teams comfortable with shifting priorities and rapid changes.
