Position Summary
The Herron School of Art and Design at IU Indianapolis invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor in Art Therapy to begin in August 2025. The position will reside in the Art Therapy program which offers a Master of Arts degree. This position provides the opportunity and resources to help expand upon and further develop a creative and innovative art therapy program with unique access to clinical research and community partners enhancing student and faculty experiences. Rank and salary are commensurate with professional experience teaching and current professional status. Duties: The successful candidate will be an active participant in a cohesive faculty team with varied interests and experiences within the Art Therapy Program. Responsibilities include teaching student recruitment and advising and curriculum development; contributing to the School and University through service; and ongoing engagement in scholarly creative and professional activities. Management of the clinical internships including administrative duties related to the development and maintenance of the internships. This will include active involvement in coordinating placement throughout the summer. Onsite clinical supervision of graduate art therapy students. The ideal candidate will also contribute to the school by bringing a diverse perspective way of thinking and/or unique set of experiences that expands the intellectual conversation of the field. The typical course load for Clinical Track faculty is 3/3. This position offers a onecourse release for onsite clinical supervision of students.
