TheProgram Coordinator will lead thedevelopment expansion and coordinationof community programming at theVCU Health Hub at 25th focusing onhealth priorities and the needs of the East End community in alignment withVCU/VCU Health strategic goals. This role willforge strategic partnershipswith community organizationsVCU/VCU Health faculty and studentsto createimpactful programsthat leverage existing resources and enhance the Health Hubs offerings.

The Program Coordinator will also work toincrease collaborationwith local and regional partners broadening thereach and effectivenessof the Health Hub while fostering athriving community space. This position involvesclose collaborationwith variousVCU and VCU Health departments units and centersto identify programming opportunities that meet community needs and provideexperiential learning opportunities for students.

TheProgram Coordinator will be part of theDivision of Community Engagementand will be basedin person at the VCU Health Hub at 25th serving in anonsite communityfacing role. This position is akey memberof a dynamic team that works closely withVCU and VCU Health faculty and staff playing an integral role in advancingVCUs Community Engagement priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Community Programming

  • Develop and implement diverse programs and initiatives that address thehealth and wellness priorities and needs of the East End communityand leverageVCU/VCU Health programming.
  • Ensure that programs are wellattended and enhance theoverall wellbeing of the community.
  • Utilizecommunityengaged practices includingcommunity need identification and data utilization to inform programming and evaluate impact.

Partnerships

  • Develop and expandstrategic partnershipsto promoteinnovative communityidentified programmingthat addresses community needs.
  • Navigate and engagediverse stakeholders includingVCU/VCU Health faculty students and community members to support meaningful collaboration.

Faculty Support

  • Assist faculty indeveloping recruitment pathwaysand programming at the Health Hub.
  • Serve as aconnectorbetween facultycommunity partners and the Health Hubto facilitatecollaboration and program development.
  • Supportexperiential learning opportunitiesfor students that align withcommunity needsand program goals.

Supervision and Support

  • Providesupervision and mentorshipto student interns andVCU studentsinvolved in experiential learning projects.
  • Ensure student projects align withcommunity needsand contribute tomeaningful engagement and programmatic success.
  • Maintainstrong organizational systems includingfile and database management to support program tracking and student involvement.

Communications and Outreach

  • Develop and implementcommunications strategiesto engagecommunity members and partnerseffectively.
  • Utilizebasic design skills to promoteHealth Hub programmingand encourage participation.
  • Ensure that communication materials reflectcultural responsivenessand communitydriven messaging.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degreeinSocial Work (MSW)Public Health (MPH) or a related field.
  • Extensiveexperience working in communities similar to Richmonds East End applying anassetbased approachto community engagement.
  • Strong community networksand experience incommunity coordination program development and partnershipbuilding.
  • Proven ability todevelop and manage programsthat align withcommunity needsandorganizational goals.
  • Experiencesupervising students and interns.
  • Demonstratedorganizational skills includingprogram coordination and data management.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect professionalism and civility with a population of faculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a diverse group of community partners academic institutions and care coordination teams.
  • Strongability to engage and collaborate with stakeholdersto bring relevant programs to the Health Hub.
  • Experience developing programs thatalign with donor priorities and funding requirementsto enhance impact and sustainability.
  • Creative and strategic thinkerwith strongproject and program management skills.
  • Capacity forcommunications and outreach includingbasic design skills and adaptability in language and tonefor engaging diverse audiences.
