What will you be doing
Were looking for a big data developer who loves solving complex problems across a full spectrum of technologies. The ideal candidate is excited by experimentation and looking for a new challenge that stretches their talents. The big data developer will help ensure that our technological infrastructure operates seamlessly in support of business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain highly scalable ETL applications on Hadoop.
- Take responsibility for Apache Hadoop development and implementation
- Deliver big data projects using Spark Python Scala SQL and Hive
- Write efficient reusable and well documented code.
- Work closely with Data Science QA Operations and other teams to deliver on tight deadlines.
- Actively participate in daily agile / scrum meetings and code reviews
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 3 years of software development experience
- 2 years of handson experience writing ETL Spark applications in PySpark or Scala
- Good understanding of spark architecture data frames and tuning spark
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle PostgreSQL
- Expertise in ETL methodology.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with global distributed teams
