For ourJuly 28 2025 RN Residency for New Graduate Nurses
Overlakes RN Residency program was designed for the new graduate nurse and is based on best practices and evidencebased education and training. After completion of theRNResidency you will bepracticing with basiccompetencies and confidence of a Staff RN.
Overlake Medical Center & Clinics Postop General Surgical Unit has 36beds and RNs will be trained to care for the general surgery population and basic age related competencies for adult. Patient populations include: GI GU bariatric head and neck breast and reconstructive surgery vascular surgery and a variety of other general surgical care.

Overlake Medical CentersRN Residency is a 12 Month Program which includes:
- Instructorled courses featuring current and emerging clinical guidelines and standards.
- 1:1 Clinical precepting by an RNto provide personalized bedside training.
- Focused Group Sessions that provide a forum for exchange of ideas and experiences among peers.
You will be working a .9 FTE during your precepted period ofRN Residency. Upon completion your shift will be based upon the needs of the patients and the department (most likely nights).
Qualifications:
- Active Washington State Registered Nursing license required before starting orientation on July 28 2025. (May be a Multistate license from a Compact state or a Washington RN license).
- Current Health Provider CPR certification.
- 24month FTE commitment required.
- Due to the intensity of the program no extended vacation time will be approved.
