Tour Hosts provide informative and entertaining commentary on City Sightseeing Tour experiences. They combine fine presentation skills energetic personalities and historical knowledge to bring LIFE and local charm to the citys historic sights sounds and cultural attributes.
CITY SIGHTSEEING IS IN THE E N T E R T A I N M E N T BUSINESS!
Tour Hosts are the most visible component of the sightseeing experience. In addition to commentary Hosts also engage visitors answer questions and offer travel advice. This is accomplished with the right balance of dialogue: Historic 60 Entertainment 30 Safety/ Housekeeping 10.
This is challenging because of the hopon hopoff nature of the product which generates a different mix of passengers from one stop to the next and on each walking tour. SO the Tour Hosts must be flexible and talented showmen/women who can offer an engaging presentation during every segment of every tour.
Requirements
Skills and Knowledge:
- Possesses an expansive knowledge of the history of New Orleans.
- Enjoys engaging visitors answering questions and offering travel advice.
- Has an awareness of current special events exhibits and cultural trends.
- Demonstrates patience tolerance and sensitivity to guests and colleagues.
- Exceptional verbal communication listening and presentation skills to handle customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Standing walking climbing stairs in exterior and interior spaces for extended periods of time.
Duties:
- Delivering a tour narrative in an energetic enthusiastic and professional manner.
- Presenting accurate statistics and dates through engaging stories.
- Adding tasteful and appropriate personal anecdotes and enhancements to the tour narrative.
Qualifications:
- Knows and loves everything about New Orleans.
- Has a Tour Guide Permit issued by the City of New Orleans.
- High School education or higher.
