Job Title: Senior Project Manager (R&D)
Location: Barcelona Spain Hybrid
Job Description
This position will work closely with the Program franchise Head(s) and crossfunctional project team members to establish and maintain project plans and budgets organize and lead project team meetings foster communication and coordinate between functional groups and it is accountable for the operational efforts both internally and externally to drive the of the project plans.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the effective coordination and facilitation of crossfunctional team meetings from a project management perspective. Ensure team meetings have prepared agendas allotted adequate time for presenters to prepare and completed timely composition and issuance of meeting summaries/minutes.
- Develop and manage global integrated crossfunctional plans needed to achieve the defined objectives of projects by:
- Identifying key deliverables for each function
- Understanding and outlining interdependencies
- Ensuring crossfunctional alignment and accountability
- Coordinating project level budget/resource forecasting and manage project procurement activities
- Monitoring progress and adherence to timelines
- Identifying project risk and issues and facilitating resolution
- Ensuring the timely and adequate followup on action items
- Collaborate with the team to create organize and maintain plans and timelines for project objectives
- Execute R&D project/portfolio management processes for prioritization resource allocation and risk management.
- Track key issues to facilitate resolution.
- Proactively identify constraints risks and conflicts that could impact the project schedule and work with team members and management to develop appropriate solutions.
- Coordinate activities with external business partners where applicable; contribute to achieving partnership contract deliverables.
- Enhance team effectiveness and resolve dynamic issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical life sciences or related industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of management/leadership experience.
- Minimum of 35 years experience in a drug development Project Management role either supporting a development function (e.g. research Clinical Operations or Regulatory Affairs) or Medical Affairs or Clinical Development Project subteams.
- Drug Development knowledge with a good understanding of other functions relevant to the position.
- Strong interpersonal skills negotiation skills active listening and relationship management skills.
- Ability to distinguish proper balance between strategic and tactical thinking.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates creativity and foresight in anticipating and solving complex project issues.
- Selfdirected process oriented and able to work well in a team environment.
- Handson expertise with project management tools (E.G Planisware MS Teams MS Project Smartsheet PowerBI etc.
- Good understanding of financial and resource planning.
- Fluent English.
