Our age 3 grade 8 students experience challenging academics embedded in a nurturing environment. The Childrens School seeks an experienced fulltime Upper Elementary School Lead Teacher to start July 29 2025.
The Lead Teacher at The Childrens School (TCS) is responsible for student learning classroom instruction and management and curriculum creation/implementation and for promoting a classroom culture committed to student engagement in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the School in the core subject areas or in a specialty area depending upon the teaching role and gradelevel(s).
Day to day a Lead Teacher will:
Motivate nurture and challenge students
Play a meaningful role in each students daily school life
Establish and maintain a creative selfdirected collaborative and culturally inclusive learning environment
Communicate collaborate plan and work effectively in teaching partnerships
Gather formative and formal feedback about student progress to guide student learning.
Required oncampus office hours are Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and are subject to change. As an exempt position job responsibilities include lesson/class planning family communication regarding student progress meetings evaluation of student work team planning professional development etc. which typically extends beyond office hours.
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Applicable experience working with children through a child development lens
Understands the identity development and learning process of early adolescents
Skilled at establishing meaningful relationships with students as a critical foundation for student engagement and academic achievement

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Education Teaching and/or relevant subject area and at least three 3 years of experience teaching children in a classroom setting preferably in grades 45. Experience with student mentoring leadership or advisory programs
Passion for and experience in the work of diversity equity and inclusion
