STEP Instructor

STEP Instructors will provide instruction to Mercy University STEP students during the summer and academic year. The instructor is responsible for planning and executing lessons that inspire and challenge students. The role requires continuous monitoring of student progress adapting instructional methods to meet individual and group needs effectively. Familiarity with New York State teaching standards is a must ensuring all content delivered is relevant current and designed to bolster the students academic proficiencies in STEM subjects and beyond. This position calls for a passionate educator who can ignite curiosity foster creativity and enhance critical thinking skills in students making learning an exciting adventure outside of the traditional school week.

• A current New York State teaching credential preferred
• Background in science or math and enthusiasm for science or math education
• Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a respectful helpful and friendly tone
• Experience working with students required
• Ability to connect with many different types of students and learners in a limited time
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
