Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Systems and Field Engineer with a specialization in Electrical Engineering Heavy Current to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for electrical projects.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to develop electrical system designs and specifications.
- Plan and implement electrical system installations including equipment and materials selection.
- Conduct quality control assessments to ensure adherence to design specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues both onsite and remotely.
- Perform regular maintenance and periodic inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field technicians and other team members.
- Review and interpret electrical system drawings schematics and technical documentation.
- Stay uptodate with advancements in electrical engineering technology and industry practices.
- Perform electrical system modelling protection design protection and system commissioning bill of quantities and AutoCAD drawings.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) with 35 years of experience
- National diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) with 510 years of experience
- Drivers licence
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Team player but also independent worker
- Must be willing to travel and sleep out occasionally
- Proficiency in using electrical design software (e.g. AutoCAD ETAP).
