Job Description

Job Description:

This seasonal/intermittent position is a part time 11 month role that will assist the head coach and assistant coaches of Womens Rugby in all aspects of coaching including instruction of studentathletes recruiting of prospective studentathletes and all NCAA and Ivy League Conference administrative requirements.
This includes coaching teaching and player development recruiting and recruiting coordination and administrative duties such as coordinating training and travel schedules video analysis completing compliance information and alumnae relations. The position supports all efforts to continue to attract the nations top womens rugby players to our Division I nonscholarship program.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree required or equivalent if international.
  • 12 years coaching experience with a competitive club high school or collegiate program; Prior collegiate coaching experience preferred (and/or a combination of coaching & competitive playing experience)
  • Competitive collegiate (club or varsity level) and/or international playing experience preferred.

Job Competencies

  • Ability to recruit within NCAA and Ivy League Rules.
  • Excellent organizational interpersonal communication & computer skills necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students
  • Excellent sport specific technical tactical and strategic knowledge.
  • Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Basic proficiency in excel word internet & email capabilities.
  • Social media experience helpful.
  • Familiarity with FrontRush and Teamworks or similar preferred.
  • Prior experience with video editing software helpful.
  • Commitment to the studentathlete passion for the game and ability to coach & motivate.
  • The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background Education and DMV check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.

All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the compliance office and appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions must receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).
