Job Description

Position Overview:
NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Services is currently accepting applications for experienced Journeyman Crane Operators for the upcoming spring turnaround season. Crane operators with experience on ATs RTs and Carry decks are required. The Crane Operator is responsible for effectively performing Lifting and Rigging Services. Wage will be based on the Crane Rental Collective Agreement. In addition NCSG will make employer contributions to the unionized Health and Wellness Pension and Training Plans.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Assemble/Disassemble cranes
  • Know and follow road and crane regulations
  • Perform preoperational inspections including hazard assessments calculating crane capabilities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
  • Operate mobile to lift move position or place equipment and materials
  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Represents the company help to resolve any customer concerns in professional manner. Following all site rules and adhering to at all times
  • Attend toolbox meetings in a constructive and contributive manner
Qualifications:
  • Journeyman Red Seal Mobile Crane Certification.
  • 3rd year Apprentices will be considered.
  • Valid Class 3 or 5 License preferred. Must provide a current commercial abstract that meets NCSGs Compliance Standard.
  • CSTS 2020 CSO H2S Alive First Aid and Fall Protection required.
  • Prior experience operating ATs up to 120 ton Liebherr required.
  • RT experience up to 100T Tadano.
  • Carry deck experience required.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively.
  • Ability to remain alert and maintain a high level of concentration.
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Understands the operations and limitations of the equipment.
  • Mechanical ability to make minor repairs when needed.
Position Details:
  • Camp provided.
  • 6 & 1 / 12 & 2 schedules other schedules could be required depending on customer schedules.
  • 10 12 hours per day.
  • Duration will be 4 8 weeks approximately.
  • Must be or willing to join Operating Engineers Local 955 Union. Current members must be in good standing.
  • Wages as per the collective agreement.
  • Interested candidates can go to Local 955s job board and look for crane postings for NCSG and bid on the spot they are qualified for.
