Job Description

PartTime Accountant 0.60.8 FTE)

The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) is seeking a parttime highly motivated Accountant to join our team in Hobart Tasmania.

About the Role:

Play a vital role in supporting CCAMLRs mission of conserving Antarctic marine life by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. In this parttime position (negotiable hours from 45 to 60 hours per fortnight) you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks including:

  • Assisting with budget preparation forecasts and monthly management account preparation.
  • Supporting yearend closing procedures financial statement preparation and interacting with auditors.
  • Contributing to the management of CCAMLRs investments and special funds.
  • Providing support with international financial reporting and tax requirements.
  • Coordinating payroll and superannuation for staff.
  • Maintaining general ledger accounts processing journals and reconciling bank statements.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A qualified accountant with a minimum bachelors degree in accounting.
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/AASB and experience in financial statement preparation and audit.
  • Experience with payroll processing and superannuation.
  • Excellent time management skills meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and NetSuite (CCAMLRs ERP system).
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
