About the Role
NWRHnow has multiplevacancies for experienced applicants to join our team ofWellbeing Clinicians/ Social Workers and Counsellorson a fulltime or part time basis in Mornington Island Doomadgee and Mount Isa. If located in Mount Isa there will be FIFO positions to Lower Gulf Communities.
As aWellbeing Clinician yourprimary responsibility will be toprovide direct client support to adults youth children and families liaise with community to plan deliver and evaluateprogram specific wellbeing services and community education activities in accordance with organisational and program funding guidelines. Aboutyou
Candidates wishing to applymusthavedemonstrated experience in helping clients overcome the difficultiesthat impact on mental health social and emotional wellbeing alongside abelief and understanding in a strengthsbased familycentered holistic approachto early intervention and health promotion.
Candidates with relevant work experience and who hold tertiary qualifications in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Mental Health or equivalent certifications will be highly regarded.
Yourdesire to assist the wellbeingof people in remote communities through working with children youth families elders and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people as required or directed will be pivotal to your success.
As a flexible outgoing and patient professional youll have the ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner with a variety of stakeholders and work both autonomously and as part of a supportive team environment.
You must have ahigh level of computer literacyspecifically in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using reporting and client databases.
Please note:Regular travel to communities within your catchment areawill be required as suchyou must be comfortable with travelling by light aircraft or road and possess a current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence. Any travel expenses incurred during these periods will be reimbursed.
