About the Position:
As the Database Administrator you will be responsible for overseeing the development and organization of databases assessing the implementation of new technologies and serve as a subject matter expert within all aspects for database administration including database architecture.
What You Will Do:
- Manage capacity planning installation and ongoing maintenance of all critical functions (including but not limited to upgrades patches monitoring regular backups) and disaster recovery for Oracle and Microsoft (MS)SQL databases.
- Develop and optimize queries and stored procedures to drive efficiency and reduce runtimes.
- Design and implement high availability solutions using Data Guard SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups or other appropriate technologies.
- Define database security measures and hierarchies.
- Streamline database administration by overseeing the implementation of continuous monitoring and by automating manual processes.
- Troubleshoot complex problems regarding databases.
- Perform ongoing tuning of the database to ensure data integrity
What Were Looking For:
- Minimum of fiveyears of experience in managing Oracle databases required.
- MS SQL experience preferred
- Indepth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience.
- BA/BS Computer Science Information Technology or related field preferred.
- Financial institution and/or Fiserv DNA database experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to business.
Working Conditions/Demands:
- Professional office setting.
- Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
- Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to work an oncall schedule which could require occasional nights or weekends.
