You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailHead Start has an opening for a fulltime Cook position working 35 hours a week. responsible for planning preparation and serving meals to Head Start Birth5 children. Follow program health and safety standards to maintain a clean safe and healthy environment practice active supervision and promote a culture of safety in the Head Start Birth5 Center. Purchase food and supplies necessary to prepare planned menus for the number of enrolled children and program staff for family meals at the Head Start Center and prearranged field trips. Develop and maintain standards of sanitation food preparation and storage set by local and state health departments Indiana Day Care Licensing Regulations CACFP Guidelines and Fire Marshall.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must obtain ServSafe Certification within six months of hire. Previous experience with food preparation is desirable and the ability to learn and implement the food program is necessary. LHDC may provide on the job training to obtain the appropriate credentials if necessary.
Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations including Head Start Standards of Conduct federal and state criminal history requirements sex offender registry checks drug screen physical and complete an annual T.B. test.
