The Steam Turbine component Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing stationary turbine technologies enabling worldclass Steam Turbine performance and efficiency. This is a critical role requiring both system level knowledge of turbomachinery safety (overspeed) and detailed mechanical component expertise to design the power producing component within the turbine.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- OwnST componentdesigninexecution of NPI OTR and RTS activities for new units and aftermarket services
- Drivetechnologyadvancements from a Shaftline System subsystem component andmaterial / life vantage points
- Collaborate with global & crossfunctional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers.
- Followrigorous NPI Tollgate ProcessfromConceptualDesignthru fieldvalidationforall bucket/blade component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations. Lead and reviewappropriate engineeringanalysis to ensurerobustdesigns that meet all required CTQs.
- Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design including material properties statics strength of materials fluid dynamics lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep. FiniteElementAnalysis and / or CFDcapability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorsdegree inMechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Strongengineeringexperience in turbomachinery rotating components design
- Proficiency in English
- Legal right to work. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas.
- In case of being a QTC employee you must currently occupy the same sublevel or one prior as the proposed sublevel for this position.

- Experience inSteam Turbine componentdesign including ST casings valves bearings pedestals and LP Hood designs designprocess&procedures
- Demonstrated clear thinker with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems
- Demonstrated Project leadership skills with the mindset to handle several competing tasks
- Familiaritywith the full manufacturing process including: forgings machining and factoryassembly/ testing practices specifically as applied to powergenerationequipment
For U.S. based candidates only for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements The base pay range for this position is$88600.00 $147600.00 USD per year.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10 performance bonus.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110 120 or 130 of salary in certain areas.
