Job Description
Champlain Valley Head Start (CVHS) is seeking a longterm substitute in the Preschool classroom of our Addison County Early Learning Center in New Haven VT. This is a full time position 8:00am 4:00pm Monday Friday from midFebruary 2025 mid June 2025.
Head Start is a federally funded national child and family development program that provides comprehensive services for pregnant women children from birth to age five and their families. Services for children promote school readiness and include early education health nutrition mental health and services for children with special needs. Services for parents promote family engagement and include parent leadership and social service support.

The longterm substitute must; meet required screenings and complete background checks in compliance with Vermont Licensing Regulations for CenterBased Childcare and Preschool Program Regulations be at least eighteen 18 years of age be able to comprehend basic written format and meet at least one 1 of the following qualifications:
Has at least a high school diploma OR has completed a GED and completes the Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals course or the Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate within the first twelve 12 months of employment
OR has at least a high school diploma OR has completed a GED and a three 3 college credit course in child or human development or in schoolage care and education within the first twelve 12 months of employment and have a commitment to social justice and to working with families with limited financial resources; access to reliable transportation; and physical ability to carry out required tasks.
