Job Description

Overview

This position is responsible for reviewing appropriate ICD10 HCPCS and CPT codes for accuracy to maximize reimbursement for EVMS Medical Group.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently posts office and/or hospital charges into the IDX system.
  • Follows department procedures and policies allowing for consistency and completeness of charge capture processes and reimbursement.
  • Update patient registration Verifies insurance information and obtain authorizations for charge capture.
  • Responds to and interacts professionally to requests from providers and management.
  • Communicates all charge related issues to the designated areas for correction. Identify charge issues/opportunities and works with departments to make recommendations resolve issues and enhance charge capture and compliance.
  • Review clinical documentation for inpatient charge tickets accuracy and submit.
  • Review and work error corrections and denial spreadsheets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Candidate must possess basic computer and keyboarding skills. Must be able to communicate ideas clearly and follow written processes and procedures. Must have ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Prior medical billing experience highly desired but not required.
