Key Purpose of the Job:
As an Account Administrator you will play a vital role in providing accurate timely purchase-ledger processing and general office-administration support ensuring suppliers are paid promptly financial records in Sage 200 are up-to-date and the Finance team has the information and resources needed to operate efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Office Administration:
- Handle all incoming and outgoing post and courier deliveries
- Order stationery and ad-hoc supplies (including Amazon Business account).
- Scan and archive finance documents to the agreed electronic filing structure.
- Provide lone-worker or police appendices and other compliance paperwork on request.
Bank & Cash-book support:
- Upload daily bank statements to Teams and post transactions in Sage 200.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and post cheques at the Post Office when required.
Sales-ledger & Credit control support:
- Issue customer statements and aged-debt reports; assist with debt-chasing when necessary.
- Process contract cancellations: check Sentinel for last invoice date raise credit notes and update Sage 200 memos.
- Run credit checks on prospective customers (CPA) and share results with the sales team.
The duties above are not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrable purchase-ledger experience in a busy finance function
- Daily working knowledge of Sage 200
- Good Excel Outlook & Teams skills
- High numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills; able to manage competing deadlines
- Clear professional written and verbal communication
Desirable Requirements:
- Familiarity with Sentinel monitoring platform
- Exposure to security-industry finance processes
- AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent
- Experience assisting with credit control
