Primary Purpose
The Benefits Administrator oversees the administration of the designated employee benefit plans and programs ensuring compliance with regulations and providing exceptional support to employees and the HR department. This role is responsible for managing benefit enrollments claims processing account reconciliation audits open enrollment and benefitsrelated communications and events.
Essential Functions
Administer designated employee benefit plans and programs ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees thirdparty administrators insurance carriers and consultants regarding benefit enrollments claims and issue resolution including oversight of electronic data transmissions. Conduct timely reconciliations of benefit billings including invoice processing benefit deductions general ledger accounts bank statements and retirement accounts. Research and resolve discrepancies related to billing enrollments deductions and other benefitsrelated inquiries. Maintain and analyze benefits databases develop spreadsheets and generate ad hoc reports. Process and validate employee benefit enrollments in the HRIS system. Provide retiree benefits support facilitating seamless communication and the enrollment process as needed. Collaborate with HR Payroll and other departments to ensure accurate and timely benefits processing. Ensure compliance with legal requirements industry standards and institutional policies. Coordinate the annual open enrollment process and yearend benefits administration activities. Maintain and update benefitsrelated websites documentation and communications to reflect policy and plan changes. Conduct biweekly benefits orientations for new employees providing clear and comprehensive information. Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing benefits inquiries via phone email and inperson interactions. Research and recommend enhancements to benefits programs to improve offerings and cost efficiency. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree (Two 2 years of fulltime experience in the same/similar position is equal to one 1 year of completed posthigh school education coursework). Two 2 years of benefit administration experience. Three 3 years of customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of employee benefits insurance policies and related regulations. Proficiency in HRIS systems and other relevant software. Work experience and knowledge of benefit account reconciliations. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problemsolving skills. Continuous improvement mindset. Work Schedule
Duties performed during standard business hours; additional time may be required to meet business needs or deadlines.
