As part of the R&D team in the Xray engineering the Lead Image Quality Engineer will work on the characterization and integration of hardware components and the design and optimization of image processing algorithms to deliver worldclass high quality medical XRay images for our customers. Job responsibilities include leading design integration and implementation for high priority features contributing to our state of the art Helix image chain. There will be opportunities to leverage both traditional image processing techniques and AI based solutions to improve workflow and enhance image quality.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead and own image quality features by working with crossfunctional teams (customers clinical apps marketing regulatory engineering etc. to understand user needs and workflow effectively creating design definitions and requirements. Following through on implementation integration verification and product release into the field.
- Develop optimize and/or integrate traditional and AI based image processing algorithms
- Test and characterize component features that impact image quality. Create and present Technical Design Reviews (TDR) to share design process and risk retirement incorporating critical feedback for effective designs.
- Develop initial prototypes perform tests to characterize performance gather clinical feedback as needed summarize and review results with other engineers
- Develop requirements design verification technical reviews and other technical documentation. Execute verification tests as required.
- Own and/or support root cause investigation of issues for released and unreleased products. Provide Installed Based customer support.
- Develop methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality
- Provide domain expertise to serve as the main integrator between hardware and software to deliver the best image quality in Xray products.
- Work independently and possess a level of functional expertise necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery
- Own the technologies that support competitive technical differentiation
- Support mentoring of junior technical talent
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Physics or closely related discipline and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis simulation and user interface development (MATLAB Python etc..
- Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems.
- Effective communication skills and boundaryless behaviorability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion. High Ownership
- Broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical Mechanical Software etc. and/or in Physics/Math.

Desired Characteristics:
- Masters/PhD in in STEM majors (Physics Technology Engineering and Math).
- Prior working experience and understanding of Xray detectors and XRay physics.
- Proficient in using software tools to perform image processing algorithm design image analysis and simulations (Linux).
- Experience in medical image processing algorithm development and algorithm configuration optimization for medical XRay images.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Selfstarter energizing results oriented and able to multitask.
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation.
