Duties and Responsibilities:

- **Assist MFIC program manager with the coordination of MFICs programs workshops and events ensuring seamless ; serve as a point of contact for students and facilities users answering basic inquiries and providing resource guidance.
- **Provide administrative support including scheduling data entry inventory document organization procurement and fiscal support; assist in gathering program data and generating reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- **Help maintain facilities and equipment ensure proper sanitation organization and maintenance of all shared use equipment and manufacturing equipment to meet FSMA safety and quality standards; implement and maintain MFIC SOPs; assist in training on MFIC equipment and facilities sanitation.
- **Assist program manager with performing compliance audits; MFIC facility SOP audits and student and facilities users product manufacturing audits; support food safety and compliance initiatives including tracking requirements for program participants.
- **Assist program manager with ensuring student and facilities users adhere to State of Hawaii Dept. of Health USDA and FDA federal food safety standards.
- **Maintain an atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging personalized timely and efficient service to our students and outside facility users.
- **Collaborate with team members to improve operational processes and program effectiveness.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Professional Work Experience:- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Food Science Food Safety Food Innovation Microbiology Chemistry Nutrition General Sciences or related field; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:- Functional knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area offood science food safety food production sanitation and quality controldemonstrated by knowledge understanding and ability to apply concepts terminology.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of principles theories federal and state laws rules regulations and systems associated withfood safety regulations (HACCP FSMA GMPs) foodborne illness prevention sanitation SOPs food labeling and compliance with FDA USDA and state health regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area offood production operations sanitation compliance quality assurance and smallscale food business management.
- Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation write reports and procedures and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team members and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer apply word processing software and use of relevant food safety quality assurance and business management software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite HACCP documentation systems traceability software and food safety monitoring tools)
Desirable Qualifications:
- Coursework or experience in food production food safety regulations (HACCP FSMA GMPs) quality assurance sanitation protocols and product development.
- Familiarity with food processing equipment regulatory compliance sanitation SOPs and entrepreneurship in the food industry.
