Job Description
Location: Fairfax VA Arlington VA or Washington DC

We are looking for a passionate Regional Director to join our Northern Regional East: Northern Virgina Council team and make a difference. As a Regional Director youll play a pivotal role in growing membership training regional and chapter teen leaders deepening support for BBYO in the NoVA community and leading organizationwide initiatives that produce meaningful Jewish experiences for Jewish teens. Alongside your team youll connect in a dynamic environment and create a positive impact on teens our community and the world.
SHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF
As a Regional Director your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the BBYO community as they work with teens to create impactful fun and dynamic programs including large scale community projects and four to five overnight conventions each year
- Provide guidance and supervision for parttime and volunteer staff (advisors) that work directly with local chapters
- Manage the regional board and regional initiatives
- Work directly with teen leaders to expand membership and impact of BBYO throughout the region
- Build partnerships and networks in the community
- Manage broadbased fundraising efforts and relationship building
- Attend summer camp (but this time youre in charge! as you lead teen leadership programs
- Empower and inspire staff teens volunteers and advisors through your mentorship coaching and training
What youll learn as our Regional Director:
- How to run a small business as you develop skills in budgeting membership marketing sales HR and event planning
- How to manage a budget and track and analyze business metrics
- How to work with a global team and across organizational and geographical boundaries
- Relationship building as you network with and travel to other BBYO communities
- Supervisory skills as you manage a team of volunteers and others
- Professionalism and the ability to inspire and influence others to action
ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR MAKING A LASTING IMPACT
Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation to drive positive change. Additionally for Regional Directors these skills are key to success:
- Experience:25 years of work experience.
- Experience with youth or teens is preferred
- Experience leading teams or projects is preferred
- Education:A bachelors degree or higher
- Location:Must reside in DC or Northern Virginia.
- Abilities:
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the region to organizationwide events and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in the U.S. for 23 weeks each summer.
- Ability to work nontraditional hours (some nights and weekends) when teens are available
- This position requires a valid drivers license and access to a reliable insured vehicle for workrelated travel.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
- To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law.
