Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) is a body corporate constituted by the Greyhound Racing Act 2017 charged with providing strategic direction and leadership in the commercial management of the industry in NSW. In its role GRNSW promotes the exciting racing aspect of the industry but also the equally important welfare and rehoming of our animals once their athletic careers are behind them through numerous pathways. Role Summary
The Industry Education and Training Officer supports the development and implementation of initiatives and projects in line with the objectives of GRNSW including delivering initiatives as part of the GRNSW Strategic Plan. The role is responsible for the development delivery and management of industry education and training initiatives including those programs to support Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commissions (GWIC) enhanced registration framework. The role is also responsible for supporting adaptations to current systems and processes to achieve better animal welfare outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement education resources for industry participants covering regulatory requirements welfare behaviour nutrition rehoming and socialisation.
- Identify and address industry training needs through partnerships elearning and noncompulsory training opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and registered training organisations to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Prepare reports maintain records and ensure compliance with organisational protocols.
- Support greyhound rehoming education initiatives and uphold welfare priorities.
- Conduct research develop surveys and analyse data to enhance training effectiveness.
- Promote education initiatives internally and externally ensuring quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory frameworks to inform education and development strategies.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment is essential
- Tertiary qualifications and appropriate accreditation or equivalent experience in learning and development training organisational development regulation or similar field.
- Proven experience in the design development and delivery and evaluation of learning and development programs modules and materials including learning aids.
- Demonstrated judgment and initiative including excellent analytical problem solving and project management skills.
- Willingness to work as a team and collaborate.
- An interest in developing educational programs regarding animal welfare and ethics.
- Superior interpersonal team influencing and communication skills with a demonstrated capacity to influence stakeholders of varying backgrounds.
- Excellent organisational skills including a demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise tasks to meet stringent deadlines.
- Confident and engaging stakeholder management skills and abilities to communicate with all levels of experience.
- High level personal ethics integrity respect for others and an ability to deal professionally and effectively with a diverse range of people.
