Position Overview:

As the Financial Controller you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for managing accounting operations financial reporting budgeting and compliance to support strategic decisionmaking and drive sustainable growth. Your expertise in financial management and internal controls will ensure accuracy efficiency and compliance with industry regulations.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounting team coach on daytoday tasks set schedules and deadlines and provide mentorship and development opportunities. Oversee their tasks related to accounts payable accounts receivable bank and expense reconciliations etc.
  • Plan organize direct control and evaluate the operation of an accounting audit.
  • Develop and implement the financial policies systems and procedures of an establishment
  • Prepare or coordinate the preparation of financial statements summaries and other costbenefit analyses and financial management reports
  • Coordinate the financial planning and budget process and analyze and correct estimates
  • Take ownership of the organizations monthend and yearend close processes ensuring timely completion with a high level of accuracy. Maintain and complete process checklists continuously updating them to align with the companys evolving needs.
  • Be responsible for maintenance of the general ledger system; prepare appropriate entries reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of the financial statements.
  • Be accountable for timely and accurate submission of tax filings and statelevel reporting.
  • Lead and administer our annual planning process and reforecasting cycles.
  • Oversee our current internal controls and strengthen them as our team and business grow.
  • Drive the automation of financial systems and seamlessly integrate them with other business systems.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to executives equity and debt investors
  • Oversee and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimize financial planning.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified professional accountant (Canadian CPA).
  • A minimum of five 5 years of fullcycle accounting experience with at least two 2 years of experience managing a small team
  • Expertise in overseeing and coordinating the annual audit process ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • IFRS experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Xero and Fathom is an asset.
  • Ability to multitask prioritizing and managing multiple accounts at the same time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The annual compensation is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills experience and alignment to the market .
