Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and passionateFull Time Sous Chef to join the PLG team at Sugar Gum Hotel in Hillside. Youll oversee daily operations manage kitchen staff and ensure consistent food quality. If youre ready to step into a leadership role this is a great opportunity for you!
A local landmark located in Hillside The Sugar Gum Hotel is a favourite with the locals. The venue boasts a spacious family bistro large kids areas to keep them entertained for hours plus a casual area referred to as the social the goto spot for a predinner cocktail or a casual catchup with friends.

What will my duties include
- Support the Head Chef in managing and training a diverse kitchen team.
- Implement and manage Food Safety Plans.
- Prepare and cook menu as per cooking guidelines and set standards.
- Work in conjunction with the Head Chef to develop and implement menus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ensure all food safety procedures are being followed.
- Hold a Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Food Handlers Certificate.
- Experience working in a pub/bistro fastpaced environment.
- Wellversed in all kitchen areas with handson experience.
- Ability to follow and give directions when required.
- Willingness to work various shifts including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
- Full working rights in Australia.
