- Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 3 AutoCADTechnical Design ProgramSalary:$22.84/hrDepartment:Manufacturing TradesThis position is open until filled
Olympic College is recruiting to fill a parttime Instruction and Classroom Support Technician 3 position for Blueprint reading Hand drafting and Solid Edge/AutoCAD classes depending on qualifications. This position will coordinate instructional support activities design and/or develop instructional support programs or design and construct equipment. This position will work closely with Solid Edge/AutoCAD class instructors support lesson plans and assist the instructor and students during class. Work hours will vary depending on class schedules and campus location. Essential Functions
Monitor activities and assist students with Blueprint reading Hand Drafting and AutoCAD drawing problems during open lab times and during classes
- Manage open lab times when the instructor is not present
- Manage drafting supply inventory and monitor the status of lab equipment
- Develop scientific instructional programs demonstration models and laboratory procedures in conjunction with assigned faculty/teacher
- Design construct and test equipment used for lecture demonstrations or laboratory experiments
- Coordinate laboratory support maintenance and storeroom functions
- Evaluate equipment specifications and make purchase recommendations
- Perform the duties of Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2
- May teach laboratory portion of selected classes
- Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience and/or familiarity in technical drawings
- 2D drawing applications of AutoCAD 2010 and 3D modeling required
- Associate degree in Technical Drawing or related field
- Help and instruct others to learn the AutoCAD/Solid Edge software
- Follow campus regulations local state and federal laws regulations and ordinances
- Demonstrate success working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Function as a team player
- Understand oral and written instructions
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer software applications
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Olympic College mission diversity and learningcentered climate
- Uphold Olympic Colleges values and ethics necessary to maintain a positive climate
Conditions of Employment:- This is a parttime position
- Flexible work hours to accommodate both morning and afternoon work assignments
- Applicants must be able to gain security clearance to work in a controlled industrial area including a criminal background check and proof of identity and documentation of U.S. citizenship with either a U.S. Passport or U.S. birth certificate
- If hired you will need to be able to provide proof of identity and documentation of U.S. citizenship or appropriate authorization to work in this position as required by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Official college transcripts will be required if hired
This position requires punctual and regular attendance. This position is in a typical classroom and/or lab environment but may require the employee to move across campus to other buildings or to other campuses.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position. The employee may be required to lift and carry supplies and equipment of up to 30 pounds.Additional Information

Hourly employees must work480 hoursin a rolling sixmonth period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work70 hoursin any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement.This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week with a salary of $22.84/hr. Theyare not initially eligible for benefits upon hire but could qualify for the following.
