Reporting to the Manager Asset Management the Sr Specialist Asset Management is as a trusted business partner and mentor to our operations. This role requires deep maintenance experience and ability to apply leadership experience to support sites in unlocking site value through improved maintenance. This role is part of the Operations Excellence group which is comprised of Asset Management Improvement Digital Analytics Management Operating Systems and Operational Readiness.
There are two positions available and the ideal candidates would be either a specialist in mobile mining maintenance or large plant maintenance.

Responsibilities
Be a courageous safety leader adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Support value creation through improved asset management performance at Tecks operating sites focused on production equipment in the Mine/Fixed Plant
Collaborate with site Maintenance and Asset Management leadership to find opportunities for unlocking site value through improved maintenance of Tecks physical assets.
Implement improvements in maintenance efficiency and contribute to enhance maintenance effectiveness via strategies and planning
Leverage deep experience in industrial maintenance and knowledge of process and best practice
Work with site leadership and Improvement teams to develop measurement and assessment plans to uncover potential causes of maintenance value loss
Prioritize opportunities for maintenance performance improvement focusing on the critical few that drive improvement in health and safety value generation and the management of risk
Support site leadership to assign resources to priority initiatives and work with the teams to define objectives success metrics and improvement plans
Provide coaching mentorship and support training for site maintenance leaders as needed from management down through frontline supervision
Initiate and support working groups or communities of practice focused on improvement in maintenance bringing together stakeholders from across Tecks operations
Provide subject matter expertise to Tecks major projects and operational readiness teams focused on maintenance strategy staffing infrastructure and work process
Support the development and review of site midrange and annual maintenance plans and budgets
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and performance benchmarks in maintenance through purposeful participation in industry forums working groups and events
As part of Tecks global Operations Excellence team this role will require international travel to Tecks operations in North and South America and significant time spent onsite including at sites located at high altitude
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in engineering
Strong coaching skills and ability to lead by influence
An engineering or business degree at the undergraduate level or a trade certificate and experience at the journeyperson level
Minimum 20 years of experience in industrial maintenance preferably in the mining industry: For the Mobile mining position experience in mobile maintenance for openpit mining equipment is a requirement; preferably with significant exposure to Caterpillar and Komatsu mining equipment. For the Plant position experience in industrial plant maintenance is a requirement; ideally in the mining smelting Oil & Gas or chemical sectors
Minimum 10 years of proven experience in maintenance leadership with progression to senior maintenance leadership roles
Proven success in leading a large and complex maintenance organization through change and to a sustained higher level of performance
A thorough understanding of industry standards and processes for industrial maintenance including maintenance strategy planning and scheduling and quality management
For the Plant position experience with large plant outages and turnarounds is required. Knowledge of maintenance excellence value drivers is also required
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Candidates must be eligible to travel internationally particularly within Canada the USA Chile and Peru up to 40 of the time
$144000 $178000 a year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience skills and competencies and considers internal equity.
