Department Overview
The Unified Communications team has a mission to become the leader in creating a highly scalable software platform and communication applications for first responders and industrial workgroups. Our customers rely on these solutions to run their critical business operations in the public safety manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. Every single day we are shaping the future of mobile workgroup solutions for public safety and industrial users worldwide leveraging Motorolas rich heritage in this space. Our solutions include broadband Push to Talk (PTT) multimedia messaging location based collaboration video streaming with full interoperability with land mobile radio (LMR) systems. The products include client apps on Android iOS and Windows. Our backend software can be deployed OnPrem in private data centers or in a public cloud infrastructure.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Supports network architecture consultants by preparing detailed specifications and documentation from highlevel designs.
Plans researches evaluates designs and develops network systems by applying engineering hardware and software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure in line with organization strategies.
Designs analyzes plans and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities.
Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods.
Prepares the analysis of the shortterm or longterm capacity needs for switching routing transmission and signaling.
Conducts network architecture design feasibility and cost studies. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities.
Conducts economic and population growth studies to determine impact on network capacity and development plan projections.
Design build and operate highly available hosting infrastructure on public and private clouds.
Design and develop automation workflows perform tests and provide feedback after assessing the overall quality of delivered components.
Configures and prepares production releases deploys and rollback instructions.
Create both PaaS and IaaS resources in Azure and private clouds to support development product and QA.
Work closely with product developers to shape and deliver features to customers and thrive as an independent autonomous creative thinker that can break out from conventional solutions.
Administers and maintains source control repositories build systems build automation servers and associated automation.
Qualifications:
Extensive expertise in various flavors of Unix specifically Linux.
Strong knowledge of the Networking Protocols (Layer3 to Layer7.
Kubernetes knowledge and experience with CI/CD pipelines GIT and build tools(highly preferred).
Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python Shell Scripting)
Knowledge of Databases any two SQL Couch Base Gridgain MongoDB).
Knowledge of automation using Ansible.
Knowledge of web services and microservices.
Understanding of virtualized environments.
Target Base Salary Range: $56900 to $105300 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or an allied discipline.
OR 3 years of related experience.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
