1About the position:
The Automation Systems Engineer is part of the Process Engineering and Automation team within Chevrons ENGINE Center and will provide support throughout the lifecycle of Automation System projects in Upstream Downstream and Midstream facilities. This includes support for automation systems design architectures control narratives and data flows and development and maintenance of control systems tools. The engineer will work in close collaboration with a team of Automation Systems Subject Matter Experts in the Chevron Technical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Lifecycle Support: Provide endtoend support for Automation Systems projects from initial design through to implementation and completion automation philosophy control narratives architecture design data flow systems integration human machine interface (HMI) design
Automation Systems Performance Analysis: Support Automation System Human Machine Interface (HMI) performance analysis Control Hazard and Operability (CHAZOP) studies Control Systems Reliability Analysis
Technical Services: Deliver technical assistance for typical Automation and Control Systems issues
Design and Implementation: Assist in the design and implementation of Automation and Control Systems ensuring compliance with standards and best practices
Documentation and Tools: Utilize inventory databases and design tools
Required Qualifications:
Degree: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering (B.Sc./B.Tech. from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of automation systems packaged equipment control systems systems integration control philosophies and design tools
Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with Chevrons global employee workforce
Preferred Qualifications:
510 years of experience in an Automation Systems role with an owner operator control systems supplier or systems integrator
Technical Experience: Configuration experience for Distributed Control Systems (Yokogawa Centum Honeywell Experion or Emerson DeltaV) Programmable Logic Controllers (AllenBradley or Emerson PACSystems) Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (Wonderware) or industrial software integration solutions (Ignition)
Systems Integration: Understanding common industrial communications protocols such as OPC Modbus CIP and systems integration experience of automation systems with packaged equipment control systems suppliers
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
