As our Junior Accountant you will be a key member of the Accounting and Finance team at Jarvis being a key contributor to our sustained growth and success.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Financial Controller own the fullcycle bookkeeping function at Jarvis responsible for bank reconciliations management of all financial transactions and journal entries managing the trial balance and general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivables.
- Work efficiently using Jarvis finance tech stack including Xero Float Dext Veem Plooto Payworks online banking platforms GSuite Bullhorn and others. Manage data integration and integrity between systems.
- Manage reconciliation compliance and controls of corporate spending including employee corporate credit card spending and reimbursements.
- Prepare GST/HST and QST returns along with other compliance reporting.
- Assist with financial report preparation and other ad hoc projects and tasks.
- Provide customer service to internal staff consultants and clients via email and phone. Liaise with external service providers as needed.
- Payroll management and liaising with HR and other teams.
- Provide coverage as needed for other members of the Accounting and Finance team.
- Contribute to the development of accounting and finance team process improvements including research and documentation.
What You Bring:
- An entrepreneurial attitude with a love for numbercrunching client service and process development.
- Drive to contribute to the success of the highgrowth company and ability to navigate rapid change and conflicting priorities.
- Accounting and bookkeeping experience with a strong desire to learn and improve technical skills and knowledge.
- Problemsolving mindset with the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
Musthaves:
- 12 years of progressive experience in fullcycle bookkeeping and accounting administration.
- Demonstrated experience in providing worldclass service to clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently proactively take ownership of team projects and strong research and decisionmaking capabilities.
- Payroll experience will be an asset.
Nicetohaves:
- University degree in accounting business or similar preferred.
- Experience in staffing or similar highvolume industry as this role includes management of 200 consultants (contractors and employees) including timesheet and related payments/invoicing management and working with and oversight of large data sets.
- Knowledge of cloud accounting systems (our tech stack includes Xero Plooto Float Dext Veem and Wagepoint) and advanced working knowledge of Excel.
- Exposure to data analytics such as Python BI tools (i.e. Tableau Power BI etc..
