Team Overview
As part of the Operations team you will have direct responsibility for assembling configuring testing of laser systems including set up diagnostics product verification as well as gathering and presentation of test data. This work supports high reliability aerospace and defense products.
Responsibilities
- Perform high level testing on multiple product types including measurement and characterization tests.
- Execute on final processing of devices for assigned product lines.
- Conduct tactile fiber inspection practices to identify fiber defects damage or cuts.
- Perform external visual inspection on applicable products.
- Plan and communicate supporting team demand with Supervisor to maintain customer delivery schedules.
- Operate and maintain a variety of optical test and analytical instruments.
- Source and requisition consumable materials and tools used in test processes.
- Assist in development and validation of test routines.
- Record organize and collect test data and generate test reports for customer requirements.
- Provide test support to NPI projects and programs.
- Provides feedback from pilot runs and participates in MRR to PRR events locking down processes.
- Setup and reconfigure test stations as part of product changeovers.
- Disassemble/Reassemble/Validate test stations for calibration cycles.
- Initiate engineering change documentation to correct inaccuracies when discovered.
- Support the generation of bills of materials schematics and manufacturing procedures for test stations.
- Assist in data collection and report generation for unique customer requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3 years experience in a Test Technician role validating semiconductor or Photonics devices
- Experience in Photonics and their applications specifically fibre optics preferred
- Extensive handson experience with fiber optic and electronic test equipment instrumentation tools
- Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Continual Improvement strategy.
- Schematic reading electronic debug skills
- Hardware to database SW interfacing
- Ability to work 8 hour shifts in a clean room environment wearing PPE
- Use of Microsoft Office products i.e. MS Word and MS Excel
- Associates Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences or military training or equivalent experience

At Luminar your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays a base between $45000 and $64000 per year. Within this range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including jobrelated skills experience and relevant education or training.
