Job Description

Title: DOCSIS Test Engineer

Location: Philadelphia PA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans for DOCSIS 3.1 and 4.0 technologies.
  • Perform functional regression performance and interoperability testing.
  • Use tools like Wireshark Ixia and Spirent for traffic analysis and simulation.
  • Collaborate with software and hardware teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Automate test cases using Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Document test results and provide feedback to development teams.
  • Ensure compliance with CableLabs specifications and Comcast internal standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in DOCSIS testing or broadband network validation.
  • Strong understanding of DOCSIS protocols CMTS and cable modem technologies.
  • Experience with RF signal analysis and network diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and scripting.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with DOCSIS 4.0 (FDX ESD).
  • Knowledge of cloud-native environments and virtualization.
  • Certifications such as SCTE or CableLabs training.
