QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
High School Diploma required. College degree preferred.
Experience and Training
First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Knowledge Skills Ability
Proficient in the technical knowledge of Ice Hockey
Capability to instruct studentathletes and increase their athletic performance
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of Ice Hockey rules
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Instructs studentathletes improving skill sport performance and leadership
Evaluates recruits and recommends prospective studentathletes
Monitors the conditioning and training of studentathletes
Participates in analysis of past performance opponents performance designing game plans/strategies etc.
Supervises travel arrangements for team including housing and transportation
Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students students parents faculty coworkers and managers
Other duties as assigned
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for coaching HPUs Club Ice Hockey competitive team.
This position travels with the team to all competitions throughout the year.
Maintain rosters and effective communication with the students and staff.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Recreation as well as the Associate Director of Club Sports.
