- Responsible for daily triage functions including consulting with case management and other relevant staff in resolving persons served crises and emergencies.
- Manage the medication phone line including assisting with medication prior authorizations and eprescribing functions.
- Responsible for completing accurate routine and enhanced vital signs including but not limited to blood pressure pulse height weight body mass index (BMI) waist circumference pulse oxygen glucose pulse oximetry and carbon monoxide testing.
- May assist by performing Point of Service testing including but not limited to HGBA1C drug screening lipids glucose and pregnancy testing.
- May assist by administering vaccinations and performing blood draws.
- Order medication and lab work as needed.
- Generate lab orders in the electronic health record system for external lab orders as received.
- Maintain clinic supplies and provide assistance with equipment setup as needed.
- Responsible for inventory management and ordering of supplies and equipment including but limited to personal protective equipment scales blood pressure cuffs glucometers point of service testing materials thermometers COVID19 test kits and Narcan.
- Perform routine audits of injection and medication rooms and compile detailed documentation of findings to report to department leadership.
- Assist with the management of the Prescribers Prescription Monitoring Program Michigan Automated Prescriptions System Accounts and other similar systems for clinic staff.
- Support the coordination of integrated care with internal and external providers of mental health physical health and substance use disorders.
- Review and reconcile pharmacy and laboratory invoices as they are received.
- Secure and maintain annual certificates for assigned office locations including but not limited to Clinic Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) waiver and medical waste disposal.
- Monitor medical and pharmaceutical waste disposal for assigned locations and ensure the ordering of supplies disposal and pickup by the appropriate vendor.
- Utilize a traumainformed approach to deliver services.
- Adhere to and maintain compliance proper guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe hygienic environment including infection control medical waste pharmaceutical waste and sharps disposal and responsible for maintaining a medical waste disposal license.
- Function as a superuser for the electronic health record (EHR) systems to support clinic department staff.
- Assist with the preparation of various adhoc and recurring reports for assigned departments in an accurate thorough and timely manner.
- Create documents forms spreadsheets and presentations using Microsoft Office and other tools including letters and/or disability forms for persons served.
- Complete all required documentation completely accurately and in accordance with agency policy.
- Meet productivity and documentation standards per agency and department expectations.
- Respond to general inquiries concerning departmental activities and operations by referring to established policies procedures and work instructions.
- Provide coverage and assistance to department administrative support and leadership staff as needed.
- Support the coordination of student placements with universities.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Attend and conduct meetings inperson in the office or the community virtually through video (audiovisual) and by phone (voice only) as required.
- Travel offsite as needed for various opportunities including meetings conferences activities and events.
- Ensure that the CNS Healthcare standards of service are applied to interactions with individuals served guests and staff.
- Participate in and promote departmental and agency quality improvement initiatives.
- Assume responsibility for professional growth by current reading and attendance at educational programs and conferences.
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with established policies and procedures corporate compliance program code of ethics applicable federal state and local laws and regulations HIPAA standards and other regulatory programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Current certification that is nationally recognized as a Medical Assistant Lab Assistant Pharmacy Technician or Nursing Assistant
- Obtain and maintain Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- At least 2 years of progressive experience providing support in a healthcare setting.
- Valid and unrestricted Michigan Drivers License
- Reliable transportation and current proof of auto insurance
- Experience with the application of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in health care organizations
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft office products including Word Outlook PowerPoint Excel SharePoint and Teams.
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHRs)
- Proficient in medical waste disposal and the Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Standard and CDCs recommended standard protection control plan and requirements for OSHAs BBP standards.
- Ability to format documents and use proper grammar punctuation and spell check.
- Ability to analyze information research issues pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.
- Ability to operate standard office machines such as photocopiers faxes computers and video/teleconferencing equipment.
- Ability to understand and value cultural and ethnic differences their alternatives perspectives lifestyles etc.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively professionally and courteously.
- Ability to use discretion and judgmental when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature.

Preferred
- College courses completed towards an applicable degree program
- At least 2 years of progressive experience providing support in a behavioral and/or mental healthcare setting.
- Proficient in medical terminology used in the mental health setting
- General knowledge of the community mental health system based on the Michigan Mental Health Code and MDHHS contracts
