Overview
The Associate Vice President & Assistant Dean of Enrollment Services for Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) reports to the Vice Dean for Administration. TheAVP will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our medical education programs taking responsibility for leading and overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of Admissions Financial Aid Records/Registrar services and Comprehensive Learner Management for Undergraduate Medical Education PA Studies Academic Nursing and Graduate Programs across both the WinstonSalem and Charlotte campuses of WFUSM. The AVP will ensure that these critical functions support the School of Medicines mission and goals fostering an environment of excellence innovation and inclusivity. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership organizational and communication skills dedicated to enhancing the educational experience and success of our students.
Duties
- Strategic Leadership: 1 Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for Enrollment Services aligning administrative and financial priorities with the overall education mission; 2 Provide guidance and support to components of Enrollment Services to set goals establish performance metrics and evaluate programmatic outcomes to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives; 3)Continually define implement and evaluate infrastructure strategy identifying distinctive interdisciplinary collaborations to advance the education mission of WFUSM translating plans into operations that benefit the students; 4)Develop outcome measurements and analytic strategies including identification of key metrics and data sources that will inform application of best practices across WFUSM education programs.
- Regulatory Compliance: 1 Develop and maintain practices policies and procedures to support office operations including compliance with federal state and institutional rules and regulations. 2 Keep informed of accreditation requirements and ensure staff training on these regulations. 3 Collaborate with senior leadership to conceptualize goals and policies for Educational Services ensuring alignment with WFUSMs mission.
- Operational Oversight & Collaboration: 1 Serve in an advisory capacity to the Dean of the Wake Forest School of Medicine. 2 Oversee the processing and maintenance of records from application through graduation. 3 Collaborate with other Educational Service units for seamless service delivery including Medical Curriculum Student Life Development and Student Services. 4 Serve on Wake Forest Universitywide committees to streamline processes and enhance working relationships within the School of Medicine and University communities. 5 Participate in Steering Committees to develop admissions financial aid and records processes for the Regional Medical Campus in Charlotte.
- Financial Aid Administration: 1 Oversee all aspects of the financial aid award process in accordance with current Federal and State regulations. 2 Manage financial aid decisions including housing payment processes for medical students in Charlotte and developing cost of attendance processes.
- Student and Faculty Relations: 1 Oversee Educational Services functions student management and develop procedures to ensure student satisfaction. 2 Use graduate and clerkship questionnaires to identify and address areas of student dissatisfaction.
- People Management: 1 Provide direct supervision to Educational Services the Registrat Financial Aid Comprehensive Learner Management and Student Admissions; 2 Oversee the management of CollegeNET and other admissions application processing systems. 3 Manage multiple vendor and systems partner contracts and relationships.
- Budget and Funding Management: 1 Drive the development and management of the annual operating budget for Enrollment Services. 2 Assist in development implementation and maintenance of grants for academic medical school initiatives.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Bachelors Degree required. Advanced degree preferred (PhD MBA JD MHA MS MPH MPP MPA etc.
- Minimum 15 years progressive experience leading to management/direction of enrollment services activities.
- Significant experience providing enrollment services activities is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide critical conceptual and strategic thinking to important financial academic and administrative issues across a complex organization.
- A record of accomplishment working effectively with faculty and institutional administration.
- Significant experience creating and implementing enrollment services infrastructure and support services to facilitate academic activities.
- Outstanding achievement in development and management of a diverse staff.
