TITLE: VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
JOB GOAL:
Overseeing volunteer operations for Madison including to facilitate the completion of fingerprint appointments assist with volunteer applications and maintain records for school district and volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator will also be responsible for training and supporting Madison School District staff and volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment utilizing knowledge of district policies procedures programs and organizational structure.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent problemsolving and criticalthinking abilities.
- Demonstrated capacity for maintaining confidentiality professionalism and ethical behavior.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Ability to quickly learn new software programs.
- Proficient in business English with the ability to write correspondence reports and materials with proper grammar spelling and punctuation.
- Basic office administration skills including familiarity with basic bookkeeping procedures.
- Positive customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and schedule fingerprint appointments for volunteers.
- Assist volunteers with completing the required district volunteer applications.
- Plan organize and oversee the daily operations of the volunteer program.
- Keep the Community Education Director informed of the status and activities of the volunteer program.
- Review and approve volunteer applications to ensure they are current and complete.
- Train school secretaries on how to use the Raptor system and provide support for any Raptorrelated issues.
- Communicate with school secretaries to ensure that all chaperones meet the necessary approval requirements.
- Assist in the ongoing evaluation of volunteer programs and activities.
- Promote the volunteer program through district communication channels including newsletters.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand and enhance volunteer operations.
- Support PTOs in coordinating volunteer activities across the school district as well as assisting with the implementation of new initiatives.
- Maintain and manage fingerprinting equipment and related systems.
- Support additional tasks and initiatives as directed by the Community Education Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read interpret and understand documents in English.
Ability to write routine correspondence and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to speak clearly and effectively to groups of customers or colleagues.
Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations / issues. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and verbal form.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated by the Director of Community Education
SALARY SCHEDULE / LENGTH OF WORK YEAR:
$19.58$25.59 (DOE)
