The Director of HRIS is responsible for leading the strategy implementation and optimization of the organizations Human Resources Information Systems. This role ensures that HR technology aligns with business needs enhances employee experience and supports HR functions and compliance. The Director of HRIS collaborates with HR IT and business leaders to improve system efficiency reporting capabilities and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daytoday operations of the HRIS Department. Supervises assigns and coordinates the work of the HRIS team.
- Designs and develops sound thorough and efficient work processes that support data governance data accuracy timely transactions and all other HRIS responsibilities. Maintains a library of uptodate userfriendly process notes on all HRIS processes. Trains and crosstrains HRIS staff on these processes and provides refresher training as needed.
- Continually evaluates work systems and processes and makes proactive and creative suggestions to streamline automate and improve the efficiency of work processes and systems. Communicates process changes to key stakeholders to ensure that systems and solutions are understood.
- Partners with HR Finance and IT to coordinate system upgrades integrations and enhancements to ensure optimal performance and usability as well as to enhance HRIS functionality and resolve systemrelated issues.
- Ensure HRIS security compliance and data privacy best practices are followed.
- Manages or oversees the management of security tables and security roles for the HRIS. Ensures appropriate security roles are assigned and maintained to safeguard sensitive employee information.
- Writes complex queries and develops reports as requested to support business needs. Ensures reports are produced in a timely and userfriendly format.
- Oversees HR data governance ensuring data accuracy consistency and integrity by coordinating systematic and regular audits of data entry and HRIS data. Conducts a root cause analysis when data accuracy breakdowns occur and revises processes or systems as needed to minimize future breakdowns or errors.
- Coordinates or oversees the loading and/or extractive of data ensuring the correct layout and processes and the accuracy and completeness of all data.
- Collaborates with the IT department local HR super users and project team members to meet changing business needs and/or implement system enhancements.
- Ensures that assigned HR Metrics are updated promptly and accurately.
- Runs or oversees the running of mail merges as needed.
- Develops dashboards reports and analytics to support datadriven decisionmaking for HR and business leaders.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Information Systems Business Administration or a related field
- 10 years of experience in HRIS management at least 5 of which include supervisory experience.
- Handson experience with major HRIS platforms is required.
- Experience leading system implementations upgrades and integrations.
- Expert in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Experience:
- Masters Degree
- Experience with Peoplesoft or Oracle
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong project management analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Expertise in HR technology data analytics and process automation.
- Ability to collaborate crossfunctionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $150000 $200000 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUHs good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidates validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
