Join the NVFS Family: We are looking to hire a bilingual Spanishspeaking Mental Health Counselor to join the NVFS Multicultural team! As the Mental Health Counselor you will provide services to lowincome children and families with multicultural backgrounds. The caseload for this position will offer a combination of individual and family therapy as well as workshop presentations and coping skills support and/or psychoeducational groups as needed to respond to the changing needs of the community. Services may be provided within an NVFS office within an integrated community setting (schools health clinic child care center job training site shelter) or virtually. This position receives clinical supervision towards licensure.

The starting salary is low to mid 60s.
In this role you will:
- Provide individual couples family and group therapy services for a culturally diverse population.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork to initiate treatment is completed.
- Administer/score outcome measures as specified by the program areas.
- Complete appropriate documentation of services provided (e.g. progress notes billing) using Apricot and other NVFSapproved software.
- Communicate patient progress as appropriate (i.e. have consent) to external parties (e.g. courts parents schools).
- Develop group therapy curricula and facilitate therapeutic groups.
- Communicate patient progress with identified integrated care team on site and to external parties (such as courts parents schools) as appropriate.
- Coordinate the services provided within the treatment plan (e.g. case management volunteers psychiatry).
- Perform other indirect service activities that may include: interpretation client referral tracking outreach presentations agency committee work advocacy grant reporting etc.
- Participate in regular supervision with supervisor by providing regular updates.
- Remain current on knowledge of standards and other programrelated information.
- Enter data for record keeping and reporting to meet relevant guidelines.
- Maintain files in accordance with program/licensing requirements and NVFS guidelines.
- Assure confidentiality policies and procedures are followed to protect the rights of clients that reports to authorities occur in the mandated time frames and that critical incident reviews related to these procedures are completed and filed.
Your Background: We understand that you may obtain skills through a variety of professional personal educational and volunteer experiences.
- Masters degree in Clinical Social Work Marriage and Family Therapy Counseling or a related field required.
- Oral and written fluency in English required; bilingual fluency in Spanish is required.
- Must have at least one 1 year of postgraduate clinical experience in trauma focused psychotherapy such as: work with torture survivors; victims of sexual offenses domestic violence or any other trauma survivors.
- Proficiency in usage of basic technological tools including laptops/computers email phones and internet required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Passion for providing mental health services and serving vulnerable populations.
- Demonstrated interest in working collaboratively with other professionals (case managers mental health therapists etc. in wraparound services model.
- Must be able to demonstrate and live the organizational values of Communication Integrity Respect Collaboration and Accountability.
Additional requirements:
- Successful completion of background checks and TB test required upon hire
- Must have reliable transportation to visit client homes and other designated community locations
- May be called upon to work beyond normal working hours
