We are looking for a resultsfocused high calibre Recognition of prior learning (RPL) officer with experience in generating and converting enrolments of international students through education agents.

Responsibilities:

  • ASSESSMENT OF PRIOR LEARNING: Evaluate prospective students prior learning including formal education work experience and nonaccredited training to determine eligibility for recognition and credit within Victoria Universitys academic programs.
  • Verify the authenticity relevance and quality of evidence submitted by students ensuring it aligns with the Universitys academic standards and requirements.
  • Provide clear accurate advice and guidance to students regarding the RPL process eligibility criteria and the documentation required to support their applications.
  • Assist students in identifying and presenting appropriate evidence of their prior learning and skills in alignment with course learning outcomes.
  • Assist student acquisition team in following up on pending credit applications
  • Assist the Admissions manager at VU Sydney and Brisbane and relevant University stakeholders to Compile and submit regular reports on RPL activities trends and outcomes providing insights
  • Communicate and liaise proactively with internal and external stakeholders including ECAVU acquisition team VU operations team agents VU academic staff students sessional staff and other staff members.
  • Ensure that project outcomes are aligned to stakeholder expectations and to achievement of group strategic goals.
  • Assist in the development and updating of clear effective RPL policies and procedures ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Manager and other departments to refine the RPL process and maintain consistency across the universitys campuses. Provide high level administrative and support to ensure efficient operations of the credit/RPL processes are related procedures are followed to support the student life cycle at VU Sydney and Brisbane. Develop VU Sydney and Brisbane presence and contribution to VU initiatives in relation to RPL/Credit innovation.
  • Liaise with VU course coordinators academic staff and other relevant University personnel to ensure the accurate assessment of prior learning and its relevance to specific courses or qualifications. Work closely with the ECAVU Admissions Manager to ensure consistent interpretation and application of RPL policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to a degree level or equivalent relevant experience and training.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

  • A Bachelors degree in Education Human Resources Social Sciences or a related field (or equivalent qualifications). Alternatively relevant experience in an administrative or student services role within an educational environment may be considered.
  • Basic understanding of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process and its significance in higher education.
  • Familiarity with Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) or similar qualification standards is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational and negotiation skills as well as exceptional oral and written communication skills in English including public speaking skills and ability to produce quality professional written reports.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and multicultural awareness and ability to coordinate and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to coordinate stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated initiative selfmotivation and selfdiscipline essential when working independently.
