Global Head of Pricing The Role:
As Global Head of Pricing you will:
- Lead pricing activities overseeing the development of Firmwide pricing strategy ensuring global pricing activities are aligned with Firm goals and ensuring the continuous improvement of pricing standards and procedure.
- Support a critical component of the firms strategy to deliver profitable revenue growth.
- Ensure a consistent commercial and professional approach to Pricing for work is embedded across the Firm.
- Provide first line support to stakeholders including all who influence pricing decisions and to be a focal point for pricing related issues.
Amongst your key responsibilities will be to:
- Act as the firms gatekeeper of margin and ensure visibility of dedicated Pricing resource on the ground to reinforce this message.
- Work with practices jurisdictions and relevant stakeholders to best deliver Pricing strategy including the annual NCR uplift process.
- Work alongside Finance Operations and Technology & Data teams to continually drive innovation and improve efficiency of delivery of the Pricing platform.
- Provide leadership for innovative pricing models incorporating AI and technology pricing on individual matters to maximise value return (to improve automation efficiency and quality where applicable).
- Educate lawyers and business teams to be confident in discussing pricing and margin and to harness technical offerings to improve commercial decision making.
- Lead a Pricing team with sufficient critical mass to ensure best in class delivery and responsibility for both the Global Fee Deals process and optimising individual matter pricing decisions.
- Instill confidence amongst the partner and senior lawyer team to recognise demonstrate and communicate value delivery to clients and capture a fair share of that value for Linklaters.
- To facilitate a cultural shift towards MAs/Counsel being jointly responsible alongside partners for delivering matters with optimal levels of profitability.
- Ultimately to embed an approach whereby assessment of estimated margin for any work to be undertaken across the firm becomes routine.
- Lead and develop a highperforming team driving talent development and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Continue to professionalise pricing across the network through developing/coordinating training communication implementation of Pricing Tools and technology and collaborating with all stakeholder bodies to set get and retain the right price through the life of a matter.
- To put in place regional (local) pricing expertise across the network reporting to the Global Pricing Team which will form the first (critical) point of contact in supporting pricing of material individual matters.
- To improve the skillset of the partner and associate body around pricing to reinforce and embed best practice.
- To train lawyers in best practice around using selfservice Pricing technology (currently Matter Margin planner (or more bespoke upfront pricing determination) for all matters.
- Work with Salesforce platform and the BD and Marketing team to create a seamless connection for pricing input around pitches.
- Refresh optimal configuration and the role Client Pricing Committee (CPC) should play in the firm both strategically and operationally around Pricing policy.
- Continue to look for opportunities to enhance and improve the Global Fee Deals process.
- Proactively and regularly communicate Pricing related topics and trends to the wider firm.
- Introduce periodic physical meetings with relevant partners from around the network to share Pricing intel and best practice feedback to partners globally and incorporate learnings.
- Harness intelligence around Pricing more effectively to include both external market data and internal best practice case studies

- A keen interest in and ability to demonstrate tangible improvements in Pricing performance across the spectrum of pricing arrangements.
- Leadership: a proven people leader and collaborator with strong interpersonal skills able to direct and empower multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication skills.

- Performance/operational management: numerate and analytical with a commercial outlook evaluating performance and setting goals based on datadriven decisions and actionable metrics.
